Increasing the length of the turbine feed tube will only bring benefits when you can increase water fall. By increasing the length of the tube without increasing the water drop, we also increase the pressure drop of the tube, causing loss in the liquid drop. (net drop = gross loss - pipe losses).
We
consider as the water fall the difference in level, measured
vertically, between the water mirror (at the water pick-up point to
drive the equipment) to the base of the same.
Thus,
it is not mandatory to have a free water (waterfall) for installation
of equipment and can be installed a tube following the natural slope
of the land, achieving the fall of water required for drive the
equipment
The necessary civil works for the installation is very simple and the plants are provided by Betta, allowing even a professional who has never installed a Turbo Roda Betta, Turbobomba Betta or a Betta Hydroelectric Generator do it without difficulty. We also have partners and resales all over Brazil, with teams trained to install these equipments.
In this case, it is advisable to construct a lateral canal to the creek, as follows: At the highest point of the creek, divert a level channel (water slide) on the side of the terrain, distancing it from the natural course of the river (see scheme on the website). In this way, we will be creating a level difference between the channel and the natural course of the creek. After a few meters of canal, build a water catchment box and channel the water to the lowest possible point, where the settling base of equipment will be built.
