The anti-shot valve has the purpose of closing the water supply of the assembly, interrupting the operation in case of breakage of the retaining tube, which would cause rotation excess due to a reduction in the pressure at the pump outlet.
Turbobomba
Betta and the Betta Hydropower Plants are different equipment.
Besides
the rotation difference and the necessary accessories in the
equipment for power generation, as electronic regulator and others,
the cost of such adaptation would equal to the acquisition of the two
systems to work in parallel.
The
Turbo Roda Betta and Turbobomba Betta are widely used in irrigation
projects. However, because no other fuel is used other than water,
the flow pumped to the irrigation project will depend on the water
drop and flow rate to drive the equipment.
Considering
that the equipment works 24 hours without electricity or diesel
consumption, the project can be adapted according to the acquired
pumped flow.
The
flow pumped by the Turbobomba Betta set depends on the
characteristics of the location chosen for installation (see
dimensioning), which also determines which model should be used.
As
for the Turbo Roda Betta equipment, the characteristics of the
performance will define the pumped flow, which the nozzle for flow
control of the drive should be used and the combination of pulleys
required.
Michell
Banki hydraulic turbines, used in the Turbobomba Betta, have a
lever-operated flow regulator profile, which allows to reduce the
drive flow rate up to 35% while maintaining its operation.
In
the Turbo Roda Betta the versatility is even greater, being only
necessary to use the complementary reducer of flow suitable for the
situation.
The Turbo Bomba Betta should receive a simple cover, supported by four pillars. The Turbo Roda Betta is ready to work outdoors.
Periodic maintenance of the equipment does not require specialized labor, which is done by removing a minimum number of parts and this procedure is explained step by step in our assembly and maintenance manual.

It is common to use water from a dam or stream to drive the turbine
and supply the pump, the water to be pumped can be made through a
mine or other clean source that is used in the the turbine.
Depending
on the geometric gradient, Turbobomba Betta has the capacity to pump
over distances of up to 30 km. It is important that the booster
network be designed by a professional of the branch, following the
existing norms. As for the depth of suction, it can reach 4 meters in
a maximum distance of 50 meters.
Turbo Roda Betta has pumping capacity according to each model, and can reach up to 10km away. As for the depth of suction, this can reach 3 meters in a maximum distance of 10 meters, according to each model.
The
minimum water drop for the activation of water pumping equipment is
1.5 meters (level difference measured vertically). However, the
adduction tube may follow the slope of the ground until the equipment
is installed as low as possible. The larger the existing waterfall,
the greater the flow pumped by the same equipment, whether this Turbo
Roda Betta or Turbobomba Betta.
As
for the flow rate, the minimum amount of water required is 0.9 liters
/ second for Turbo Roda Betta. However, this may vary depending on
the existing water fall, as well as the pump set-up data (pumping
height and distance).
The
pump can be supplied by gravity. In this case, water decanters shall
be used to remove sand or other suspended solids in the water, at a
maximum level of 1 meter above the Pump. There will be no need to
eliminate air in the adduction tube, or use a valve to keep the tube
filled.
Another
alternative will be suction capture, respecting the depth limits
mentioned above. In this case, it is also important that the
tubulation is sized by a professional, so that the friction loss does
not exceed the suction limit.
Like the pumped flow, the cost of the Turbobomba Betta equipment is directly related to the characteristics of the chosen location (see Dimensioning), and there may be several models for the same flow, but with different characteristics and values.
